Happy Saturday everyone! I'm here at work! Yes, my first Saturday in AGES and I'm going it alone at that. The Tyke is doing the Seattle Kids Marathon today. Probably finished by now. I expect to hear from the Fam at some point on how he's doing. When I agreed to work today we didn't know that this was the day of the Marathon. He worked so hard to get there that I feel just awful that I can't be there for him as he crosses the finish line.

In other news, I've got a head cold! I never used to get sick at all. I mean I was the kid who ran out in the snow with wet hair wearing shorts and never was sick. I don't think I ever had The Flu my entire life. Then I had a baby and my whole immune system went to shit. I'd get colds left and right. Sad fact is that I'm such a baby that I am a really bad patient when I've got any sort of illness. I feel that I should be pampered to the fullest when I am sick. So here I am, with nobody to pamper me, at work all alone, and super grouchy!

What I'd really like to do tonight or tomorrow is to make some Holiday Cookies or something. Not that I'm going to eat them, I just want to help bake them. Unfortunately for me though, nobody wants to bake cookies with someone who is sick. I say the germs bake out in the oven! Isn't a cold no longer contagious once you start with the symptoms anyway? Or did I just make that up? Ok, I've just checked with WebMD who says that it's contagious for the first few days of the cold. So let's see...symptoms started really on Thanksgiving so I've already given it to all of my family, yesterday I was in bed all day, I should be good to go today! Yet I'm at work. Goody. No cookies for me.

Ok, so I won't make cookies this weekend. Who cares? I've got a month of cookie making time! Bonus is that I've got the week between Christmas and New Year's off so I can do something then. Plus what I could do tonight and tomorrow is get out all my decorations and such for Christmas. I love doing that! I'm not sure I'll be able to get a tree this year. If I do it'll be a REALLY SMALL table top type tree. This just means I can use all the lights in the windows at home! Now if it would snow this year, which it's not too likely to do, a perfect Holiday Season would be had. By me at least.

Thanks for wasting your time with me. It was eventful. Really. Now I suppose I'll go get some work done!

Thanks for the cookies, nachos and caramel apple cider! Next time I'll be a better host.
